Pre-Race Dinner & Safety Meeting

PLEASE NOTE: The Pre-race dinner is only for the 9-mile swimmers and their Kayak escorts. Due to the limited space, we are asking that only race participants attend the dinner. We will not be doing check-ins at the pre-race dinner. All check-ins will happen at the 9-mile and 3-mile swim start locations.

6:00 PM - Dinner & Beverages
This is a great opportunity to mingle with other swimmers and meet your kayaker.

7:00 PM - Safety Meeting (mandatory for 9 milers and kayak pilots)
Presented by Ocean Games Safety Director and Ocean City Beach Patrol. The safety meeting will also be streamed live on Ocean Games Facebook Page.

Race Day Agenda

We will keep this page updated with weather announcements, direction of the swim and transportation. The final decision on swim direction will be made the morning of the event by 6:00 AM. The current normally goes South to North this time of year and the forecast is looking that way now. If that is the case, the start for the 9-mile swimmers will be Caroline Street and 94th Street for the 3-mile swimmers. The finish is at 146th Street.

PARKING & TRANSPORTATION

9-Milers & Relay Teams - 8:00 - 8:30 AM Shuttle Pickup

If the current is South to North, park at the vacant lot next to Sun & Surf Cinema (14301 Coastal Hwy, Ocean City, MD). Parking spots will be marked for Ocean Games. We have a large shuttle van that will begin loading at 8 am. The last van will depart at 8:30 AM to take you to the start line at Caroline Street. If you miss the shuttle bus, you may catch the Ocean City Beach Bus at the 144th Street Transit station. It's $3 for an all-day pass and runs approximately every 20 minutes starting at 6 AM.

***Please note - if you park at Caroline Street there will be no shuttle service from the finish line back to Caroline Street. The Ocean City Beach Bus is available.***

If the current is North to South, park at the West Ocean City Park and Ride (12848 Ocean Gateway off or Rte 50). Parking is free. The shuttle van will leave at 8:30 AM sharp to take you to the start line at 146th Street. At the finish, you can take the Park and Ride Bus at South Division Street back to West Ocean City Park & Ride. The cost is $3.

3-Milers -10:15 - 10:45 AM Shuttle Pickup

If South to North, park at the vacant lot Sun & Surf Cinema (14301 Coastal Hwy, Ocean City, MD). Parking spots will be marked for Ocean Games. The shuttle van will be running from 10:15 AM to 10:45 AM to take you to the start line at 94th Street. If you miss the shuttle bus, you may catch the Ocean City Beach Bus at the 144th Street Transit station. It's $3 for an all-day pass and runs approximately every 20 minutes.

If North to South, park at the West Ocean City Park and Ride (12848 Ocean Gateway off or Rte 50). The shuttle van will be running from 10:15 AM to 11:00 AM to take you to the race start at 45th Street. At the finish (Caroline Street) you can take the Park and Ride Bus at South Division Street back to West Ocean City Park & Ride. The cost is $3.

8:00 - 9:30 AM: Check-in for 9-Mile Swimmers & Relay Teams

Check-in will either be at the race start at Caroline Street or 146th Street depending on the current that day (TBD morning of race by 6 AM). You will get your chip at check-in.

Drop bags will be picked up at the swim start location and delivered to the finish line by Swim OC Crew.  All bags will be properly tagged.

National Anthem and Welcome on the beach.

10:00 AM

9-mile solo swimmers and Relay Teams start!

11:00 - 11:45 AM

3-mile swimmers check-in on the beach at 94th Street (or 45th Street if current is North to South). Water will be available at the start and finish.

National Anthem

12:00 PM

3-mile swimmers start!

4:00 PM

Awards Ceremony on the beach at the finish line.

FOOD & WATER

Water and Gatorade will be available at the start and at the finish. Food is available at the finish line.

ADDITIONAL LOGISTICS

Port-A-Potties will be at the 94th Street and 146th Street locations.
